Team CSC Newsletter - June 2021
Member of the Month - Simon Evans
Simon joined us as a member last year and has really stood out to us coaches, especially since returning to the box after lockdown.
He is always pushing himself to reach his full potential in all of the strength movements and WODS. Simon always strives to add that extra few kilos to the bar or to get those extra few reps in, which has resulted in him hitting loads of new PBs (Go Simon!)
Not only is Simon killing it with his own training, but we have seen him encouraging other members on the WODs and is always a friendly face to have around on our classes. He also attends our monthly Hero WODs to pay respect to those that have fallen in service.
Well done Simon, keep up the hard work and we look forward to seeing you keep on smashing those PBs!
All About Strength 💪
Have you tried out a strength class?
Strength is a fun, structured class in which you will focus on key lifts and explosive movements to develop general fitness, health, and sports specific movement patterns.
Classes are programmed in an upper and lower focused split to develop an individual’s maximum strength, muscle hypertrophy, explosive power, and rate of force development.
Strength is perfect for an individual who enjoys lifting weights but wants a more specialised class format. It is also a great supplementary class to CrossFit, and great for sports athletes who are looking to develop sports specific strength and power to develop overall sports performance and prevent injury.
🌟Classes are for all abilities and included within our new memberships! 🌟
Charity Hike 2021 - Yorkshire 3 Peaks
This year for Central Staffs CrossFit’s charity hike, we will be completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks!
The chosen charity for this hike is Anthony Nolan, the charity that enables people with blood cancer by finding them stem cell donors. It holds a very special place in members/team Anne and Andy’s hearts, whose close friend was saved by a stem cell transplant matched through Anthony Nolan.
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks covers 40 km over 12 hours on Saturday, 11th September. It
is surely no small feat, but Team CSC loves a challenge! The Peaks are:
Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough.
For those who would like to join us on the hike, please sign up to the TeamUp event so we can know who is coming. Transport, food, and accommodation will be organized individually, but we will be recommending camp sites, pack lists, and more.
Part of the Solution
At CSC we believe that movement and fitness is key to support healthy and happy lives - as do many smaller and independent Gyms.
On the back of lockdown, many gyms are still recovering - and that’s why you’ll see our team wearing Part of the Solution tees, as they are giving a huge % of every sale back to your selected gym or Affiliate Hardship Fund 🙌
Tees are on sale now: https://www.partofthesolution.fit/
“Why be Part of the Solution? Our gyms and affiliates play a huge role in helping keep us physically and mentally fit, healthy and ultimately robust to deal with whatever life throws at us, whether that be getting all the shopping up the stairs of your flat in one go, increasing your odds against a global pandemic or just generally waking up with a smile on your face.
We need to do what we can to protect these facilities, they play a key role in so many peoples lives and their impact cannot be overstated on the general wellbeing of their member”
