First off, how did you get into racing?
“For me, it was always motorsport and cars, I used to watch my dad race grass track racing, so I was always around it in one way or another. I started at eight years old in karts and worked my way up to cars”.
What is the most exciting stunt drive you have done?
“There are a few! I think driving in the F1 film ‘Rush’ as it’s so close to what I love and is all about the history of the sport, but equally a live stunt show in Abu Dhabi where I was a ‘bad guy’ driving a van and had to roll it - that was pretty fun too!”
What is your career highlight so far?
“It has to be winning the F3 Championship with my own team in 2006, it’s so hard to progress without big budgets, and the only way to be able to progress for me was to start my own team and manage that, it means so much more when you win!”
What is your dream car to drive?
“I am very lucky to drive amazing cars every day so it’s hard to pick one but it would have to be Aston Martin N430 or Range Rover SVR, sorry maybe those are boring choices 😄”
How does CrossFit training help you in the world of F3 and racing?
“After training in the gym for the last 20 years I struggled with motivation once I was there, so CrossFit really pushes me harder than ever but in a controlled way, I’m very mindful that I am an older driver on the F3 grid now and I always want to maintain a high fitness level and control my weight, plus there’s always a social/ community feeling there”

Which coach would make the best race car driver, and why?
Tim, because if I chose anyone else he would pull rank and take the drive anyway!
What do you think the CrossFit community provides for you?
The want to go back and improve. Everyone there is at a different ability, but also have strengths in different areas you do.
How would you explain CrossFit to a friend or family member to get
them to join you?
