With the open upon us, lets help support everyone taking part, cheer, clap and encourage everyone at every opportunity. As always the Newsletters is only part of what we do at CSC and more up to the minute information is available on the Members only Team Facebook page.

MOM Feb 2017.png

We are please to announce our "Member of the Month" is Charlie Trotter.

Charlie is the baby faced ninja of the box.  Charlie has been putting significant work into his training steadily over a number of months and is really starting to see some improvements in his form and work capacity.

However Charlie has not just member of the month for his training! Charlie has been a great training partner for those who have been fortunate enough to train with him. He always has a smile on his face and brings a smile to the face of those around him mostly due to his naivety and his ability to make jokes at his own expense.
If you’re having a tough day you can guarantee Charlie will make you feel better.

Awesome work on your progress Charlie and thank you for bringing many smiles to the sessions!!

This month CSC will be dedicating our Hero WOD toCpl Daniel Nield (31) !st Battalion The Rifles. Corporal Nield was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on 15 March 1977. Educated at Pittville School in Cheltenham, he joined the Army Cadets at the age of 13. On 2 September 1993 he enlisted at the Cheltenham Army Careers Office joining the Gloucestershire Regiment, who later became the Royal Gloucestershire Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment (RGBW). Cpl Daniel Nield died in an explosion in Afghanistan on 30/01/09.

Also dedicated to Cpl Richard Robinson, Cpl Danny Winter, Capt Tom Sawyer, Mne Travis Mackin and Sgt Christopher Reed who also died in the same month.

Competition Results

As usual we wanted to celebrate some individual and team achievements that took place in February.

First off a big shout out to Adam Tudor, Rose Elwell, Coach Carlie Johns and Richard Stewart Penwright who took part in the Rainhill competition on the 18th February. Adam came 33rd in the Rastrick Category an incredible achievement for a first competition. Rose came 27th in the same female category. Richard battled hard to come 23rd in the Rocket category, some 19 places above his seeded position. Coach Carlie just missed out on a podium place but fought hard to secure a 7th position in the Rocket category.

We also need to congratulate  Thereze Stenestam, Lucie Anslow and Coach Carlie Johns who took part in the Cheltenham Triple 3. The girls took the bull by the horns and in true CSC style and landed a joint 3rd podium position.

As always it is amazing to see our members take part in competitions and push them selves hard against other competitors. Competitions are an amazing way to develop your approach to a workout, see how others do it, and take part in the wider community. We applaud anyone who steps up and moves outside of their comfort zone.

Well done to everyone who took part in an event in February and lets all look forward to the CrossFit Open.

So the open is upon us and by the time this newsletter goes out we will be holding our heads and contemplating how we could have done better on 17.1.
