August is over already!! really not sure where 2016 is going, but, while the sun is shining I am not going to complain. So another great month at CSC; competitions, new additions, new members there is never a dull moment at the box. lets get started and reflect on some tent pole moments in the life of CSC....
This month we are pleased to award "Member of the Month" to the incredible individual known as Mr Simon Chadwick. Simon has been with Central Staffs CrossFit since the beginning and has put in an amazing amount of work both in and outside of the gym. Simon has contributed much more than being a friendly and positive character in the workouts. Simon has helped build our amazing facility, a place a lot of us call home from home. He has spent many many hours of his own time fixing broken doors, putting in windows, laying the flooring and manufacturing wall bars making us feel more welcome and helping us improve personally.
All of this has been done with a genuine love for the community that is Central Staffs CrossFit.
This award is a way of giving a little love back to Simon. Simon, we appreciate everything you have done for us, thank you for your continued support and congratulations buddy.
Member Richard Penwright and friend Tom H competed at the European Inferno in Cardiff on 13th/14th August and finished in a very respectable 66th position out of 150 teams. Well done both & Rich may you continue to make CSC proud.
20th / 21st August
Members Carlie Johns, Ness James, Zoe Dudek, Simon Wilson, Paul Ramage and John Wilkinson represented CSC at the 2016 Tribal Clash
Tribal Clash is Europe’s biggest and most exciting team fitness event. With 168 teams, 1008 athletes, the two days challenged the athletes as individuals and as a team, with selection gruelling physical challenges. The event was held on Blackpool Sands in Dartmouth, South Devon. I am sure the guys came away with some unforgettable memories. The event has been billed as "a festival of human endeavour".
The guys put in a sterling performance at the event and came away 145th out of 168 teams.
Congratulations guys, great effort and proud to see those CSC colours flying high.
A full rundown of the event can be seen here
The first Tuesday of the month we have added a partner WOD to our programming. This gives the members a chance to bring a friend, so we can give more people an opportunity to see what we do at CSC and get started on their journey into CrossFit. So come along and meet new members who can help push you a little harder, or bring a friend to show them what the community looks like.
