Rainhill Trials:

CSC also saw a number of our members hit the competition at Sport City, Manchester on 23rd/24th May, with some incredible results in each of their respective groups

  • Erica Roberts 21st in Kennedy
  • Tammy Berrisford - 9th in Rastrick
  • Beki Blood - 12th in Rastrick
  • Jessica Cook - 27th in Rastrick

As always, this was an amazing competition and it was great to see fellow box members making the journey and supporting our community, so a huge thanks to those who made it up to watch the girls in action. This is what CrossFit is all about and it’s a proud moment when members dig in and compete against others in a competitive environment. Well done girls, great work.

Erica Roberts also attended the Army Powerlifting Unions Ladies Day on the 13th May. Under timed conditions, standing front and centre on a platform in front of a big audience Erica managed to bring home a first place win for her category. Its great to see people venturing outside the box to push themselves further, well done Erica.

CrossFit Games European Regionals 2015

How could we not give a massive shout out our friend Jo Caulton from CrossFit Deviant, who smashed her way into the European Regionals and walked away with a  24th place finish. Incredible to think that she entered world of CrossFit two years ago and competed in her first open last year finishing109th. This year she managed to obliterate last years performance finishing in 19th place which paved her way to the regionals. Such a proud moment for all of us to see her compete against the best Europe has to offer and rank in the top 25. An absolutely incredible performance and it is great to watch an athlete who genuinely gets excited at the prospect of a competition. I think Jo has inspired us all to dig a little deeper and push ourselves a little harder in each of our CrossFit endeavours. Well done Jo from everyone at CSC :)

CSC Mobility Yoga

For those of you who don't know, Georgina Gabriel (CSC Coach) started the Yoga classes over a year ago with the goal of bringing something new to the CrossFit schedule. Yoga can benefit everyone from Rugby players, swimmers, runners and CrossFitters by improving strength, flexibility, mobility, concentration, body awareness, core strength and breathing techniques while moving. The classes are choreographed and structured for all abilities, each class is dynamic and challenging but also offer you the opportunity to relax, reflect and open your mind. Described as the "Yang" to the CrossFit "Yin", Yoga compliments the exhilaration and intensity of the daily WOD's by allowing the mind to relax, dynamically recover, building strength, flexibility, mobility and more which is vital for an athlete to perform at their best. If you have not tried this yet, please speak to G or any of the other members who are benefiting from this additional class and get involved, ALL newcomers receive a FREE taster class.
Classes run on the following days,

  • Wednesday @10:45am -11:45am
